UQ Advancement 

UQ Advancement is responsible for leading a University wide strategy to achieve collegial and community engagement through the coordination of fundraising efforts and cultivating high quality relationships with the University’s alumni, staff, students, corporate and industry partners, and donors. UQ Advancement supports the University’s vision, mission and goals by raising awareness, pursuing diversified funding sources, and providing services to the University's key stakeholders.

The role

Working within a small, high performing team, and part of a University wide engagement network, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the planning, preparation and delivery of effective events and other alumni engagement initiatives that inform and encourage alumni to participate in the life of the university; assist in achieving its mission and advocating for it within their own communities and networks. 

The overall alumni engagement program involves a range of targeted events, communications and marketing initiatives along with volunteer and philanthropic opportunities, which range in size and complexity that highlight the advantage of a lifelong association with the university.   

The person

Applicants will have an undergraduate degree in a relevant area or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. An understanding of the higher education environment and/or philanthropy would be highly regarded. 

An ideal candidate would have experience in coordinating events (including budgets), demonstrated planning skills including excellent attention to detail strong communication, organisational skills along with the capacity to be customer/client centric. Experience with CRM databases and cloud based event management systems such as Cvent would be a valuable asset in this role.


This is a full-time, contract position for 2 years at HEW Level 5. The remuneration package will be in the range $64,597.80 - $72,348.94 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $75,579.43 - $84,648.26 p.a.)
