The Student Employability Centre

The Student Employability Centre is part of the Student Affairs Division, which also comprises Student Services.  The Student Employability Centre is custodian of the UQ Student Employability Strategy, and co-ordinates and promotes the distinctive features of the UQ student experience including the ‘UQ Employability Award’, leadership, global mobility and undergraduate research experiences, and provides supports to enable students to translate, articulate and transfer these experiences into the workplace.

The activities of the Centre are aimed at ensuring that the benefits that derive from the University’s diversity, its research reputation and capacity, its international links, and its strong links with industry and the professions are embedded into the undergraduate educational experience.

The role

The Scholarships and Grants Officer is responsible for administering exchange program scholarships, government funded loans, various awards and grants and sponsorships that are available to UQ students to develop their employability skills.  The role involves handling all enquiries, checking eligibility, processing applications, maintaining records and facilitating payments as well as assisting with any marketing. 

The person

Applicants should have completed a degree or associate diploma with at least two years of subsequent administrative experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.  They must be proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office and in manipulating databases to extract information, have well developed organisational skills, communication and interpersonal and negotiations skills as well as high level of accuracy with a strong customer service focus.

Remuneration

This is a full time, fixed appointment at HEW 5 Level. The remuneration package will be in the range $64,597.80 - $72,384.94 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $75,579.43 - $84,648.26 p.a.).
