Finance at UQ operates within a devolved environment with Finance staff located in Professional Services teams in Faculties, Research Institutes and Central Divisions supported by Finance specialist service teams.  The position is part of the EM processing stream within the Financial Operations team for Finance.

The role

The Expense Management (EM) Support Officer is responsible for providing support, training and compliance advice relating to Expense Management policy, procedures, processes and systems.  This role will report to the Expense Management Team Leader. 

The EM Support Officer position sits within the EM Support Team which is based within the Accounts Payable Team and forms part of Finance and Business Services (FBS).  The occupants will be expected to apply a combination of financial knowledge and customer service skills to support the FBS Division and University in achieving its goals.

The EM Support Team is responsible for the administration, management and support of UQ’S Expense Management system environment, interfaces and processes which includes activities such as travel.  The role maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to their EM Support Team and ensures the achievement of high standards of service quality, timeliness and accuracy in service delivery.

The person

Applicants should possess qualifications in accounting, business, commerce or a related field, relevant experience in transactions processing or shared services functions and/or the combination of relevant training and professional experience. The successful candidate will have the ability to apply knowledge of finance systems, policies and processes to a wide range of financial transactions to ensure accurate, timely and efficient transaction processing.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.


This is a full-time, continuing appointment at at HEW Level 5. The remuneration package will be in the range $64,597.80 - $72,348.94 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17%.
