Office of Domestic Student Recruitment

The Office of Domestic Student Recruitment (DSR) at The University of Queensland has an important mandate for attracting academically-capable students from throughout Queensland and Australia. The Office is responsible for domestic student recruitment, engagement with secondary schools, and a range of Outreach programs aimed at increasing the tertiary study and career aspirations of students from low socio-economic backgrounds.

The role

The successful appointee will be required to lead and manage the UQ Young Achiever's Program (YAP) to build aspirations for tertiary education among educationally disadvantaged Y11 and Y12 students and their families. The role also includes the recruitment, selection, training, evaluation and recognition of high quality student mentors who will interact closely with students enrolled in the UQ Young Achievers Program.

The person

Applicants should hold an undergraduate degree in education, marketing, communications or business with extensive experience in project and event management. Excellent organisational, interpersonal relationship management, written and oral communication skills are essential. Knowledge of systems and practices in higher education and secondary schools and experience in student recruitment within tertiary education is desirable.

This role is a full-time position offered on a fixed-term basis.

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment until 15 March 2019 at HEW Level 8. The remuneration package will be in the range $92,811 - $104,214 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $111,494 - $125,193 p.a.).
