Student Affairs Division

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) (DVCA) is a member of The University’s senior executive, and is responsible for the University’s commitment to providing high-quality teaching and learning, and enhancing the UQ student experience.

The Student Services Directorate is part of the Student Affairs Division.  The objective of Student Services is to provide a range of services and support functions that enhance the student experience and assist in ensuring student success. 

The Division also includes the UQ Student Employability Centre. The Student Employability Centre is custodian of the UQ Student Employability Strategy, and coordinates and promotes the distinctive features of the UQ student experience including the ‘UQ Employability Award’, leadership, global mobility and undergraduate research experiences, and provides supports to enable students to translate, articulate and transfer these experiences into the workplace.

The role

This role is critical in UQ achieving its targets to improve the student experience.  Working as part of a team within Student Affairs, this position will assist in the coordination, delivery and development of activities and experiences that enhance the student experience for all students at UQ.

The person

Applicants should possess post-secondary qualification and have experience in contributing to and delivering programs or initiatives that enhance the sense of belonging within cohorts of students within higher education.

You should have a strong desire to work in partnership with colleagues and students to create and deliver a collaborative program of activity.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.


This is a full-time, continuing appointment at HEW Level 5. The remuneration package will be in the salary range $64,598 – 72,349 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17.5% (total package will be in the range $75,579 - $84,648 p.a.).
