Property and Facilities

The University has 3 campuses located at St. Lucia, Gatton and Herston. The University also operates a number of research sites and farms throughout Queensland.

The Property & Facilities Division (P&F) is responsible for delivering comprehensive facilities management that supports the University's teaching and research goals and its strategic objectives of Learning, Discovery and Engagement.

To achieve this, and to further improve the environment in which members of the University community study, work and live, P&F provide a range of services. These include: Energy Management and Sustainability, Construction project management, Engineering Services, Site Planning, Space and Property services, Asset Services (i.e. building maintenance, grounds maintenance, fire safety, security and parking), and Campus Services (i.e. cleaning, furniture, logistics, UQ fleet, mail dispatch).

UQ’s environmental sustainability initiatives have gained significant recognition. The Property and Facilities Division manages the University's Environmental Management System, provides advice, and promotes best sustainability practices at UQ.

The role

The successful appointee will be responsible to undertake grounds maintenance tasks within an allocated Precinct of the Gatton campus. Various duties will include gardening, grass cutting and general maintenance activities to retain and develop the aesthetic appeal and amenity of the campus.

The person

Applicants should possess qualifications in relevant disciplines as per the selection criteria within the Position Description. You should also have demonstrated ability to organise and undertake garden maintenance tasks effectively and have the ability to operate and maintain garden and mowing equipment. You will be a motivated individual who is willing to learn new skills and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for six (6) months at HEW Level 3. The remuneration package will be in the range $52,291 - $58,050 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $57,258 - $63,564 p.a.).
