The role

The successful appointee will support research activities in the UQ Composites Group. The major project explores the potential of hybrid composite materials such as fibre-metal laminates for Defence applications. A particular focus of the investigations is the development of cost-effective integration of hybrid composite materials using existing manufacturing pathways.

The person

Applicants should possess a PhD in the field of Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering, or equivalent. You should have demonstrated expert knowledge in composite materials design, manufacturing, characterisation and modelling, A demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and liaise with industry partners and other stakeholders is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities as well as excellent time management skills are key requirements.

This is a part-time, fixed term appointment at Academic level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $81,545 – $89,292p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of 9.5% (total package will be in the range $89,292 - $95,408 p.a.).
