Academic Policy and Programs

Academic Policy and Programs (APP) provides administrative support for the University’s teaching and learning activities through a range of services that support governance and academic decision-making processes, and the implementation of outcomes.

An opportunity has arisen for an administration officer to join the APP team and, in doing so, to play an integral role in central administration and committee support, as well as in the development and implementation of academic policy and academic programs at The University of Queensland.

The role

The administration officer in the Academic Policy and Programs team will provide secretariat and other administrative support to the Academic Board and its committees. The roles also supports central administration processes such as academic program approval and implementation, academic policy development, and School reviews.

The person

Applicants should have a degree with substantial relevant experience, or a combination of relevant experience and education/training. Applicants must have well-developed written communication skills; organisational, analytical and problem solving skills; and high level computer skills.

The role requires applicants to have knowledge of the University’s committee processes, or to have the ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge. Applicants should have excellent information management and communication skills, and be able to work effectively within a team.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.


This is a full-time, fixed term appointment (15 months)  at HEW Level 6. The remuneration package will be in the range $74,207.07  - $79,964.50 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $81,256.74 - $87,561.13 p.a.).
