The School of Clinical Medicine

The School of Clinical Medicine has a strong focus on the delivery of both phases of the Medicine program across a number of sites within the Brisbane metropolitan area, including but not limited to, the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Herston; the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Woolloongabba as well as QE2 and Redlands Hospitals; the Prince Charles Hospital, Chermside as well as Redcliffe and Caboolture Hospitals; Mater and Lady Cilento Childrens Hospitals, South Brisbane; Ipswich Hospital, Ipswich; Greenslopes Private Hospital, Greenslopes; Wesley and St Andrew’s Hospitals, Brisbane; the Primary Care Clinical Unit, Herston and the St Lucia Campus. Leadership at each site is provided by an experienced academic with responsibility for budget and financial matters, human resource matters and facility management. The School consists of academic staff members across all clinical disciplines and more than 2500 academic title holders.  

The role

This is a teaching-focused role. Its primary purpose is to contribute to the development and delivery of teaching and learning in the clinical courses as well as research and scholarship within the Primary Care Clinical Unit. Other responsibilities include related teaching, service/engagement and activities associated with the Primary Care Clinical Unit and the School of Clinical Medicine.

The person

Applicants should possess clinical qualifications in a primary care based discipline. You should also have demonstrated knowledge and skills in teaching as well as primary care and/or medical education research. You are expected to have a strong methodological background, statistical and analytic skills, good writing abilities, and the capacity to work with multidisciplinary research teams.  


This is a part-time (0.6 FTE), continuing position as a Teaching Focused Academic Level C. The remuneration package will be in the range of Level C $112,874.46 - $130,150.91 p.a. pro rata, plus employer contributions of 17% (total package will be in the range of $132,063.12 - $152,276.56 pro rata.)

Clinical and State Loadings may be payable to eligible appointees.
