The Faculty of Business, Economics & Law

The Faculty of Business, Economics & Law is the largest of six faculties within The University of Queensland. It incorporates the UQ Business School, the School of Economics, the TC Beirne School of Law, the Australian Institute for Business and Economics, and the Centre for the Business and Economics of Health. 

The Role

In this role, you will oversee events across the Faculty through effective leadership and development of a dynamic and high performing Events Management team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of six team members with opportunities to drive organisational change and enhance event delivery. Building a positive culture and working collaboratively will be critical in this position. 

The role will be the primary communicator between the Faculty’s event stakeholders and will be responsible for reporting to these stakeholders on strategic outcomes of events, and making recommendations.

The successful candidate will be implementing accountability measures for events and ensuring all events are hosted within the University’s guidelines and policies, including branding, finance, protocol, and safety.

The Person

Applicants should possess extensive experience in managing high quality events and relevant tertiary qualifications/education/training.

Team management experience will be essential with proven success in enhancing organisational efficiencies and delivering high-level customer service to a range of stakeholders. 

Highly effective organisational and events planning skills, attention to detail and strong interpersonal and oral communication skills will be essential for this role.


This is a full-time, fixed-term (12 months) appointment at HEW Level 7. The remuneration package will be in the range $81,883 - $89,599 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of 9.5% (total package will be in the range $89,661 - $98,110 p.a.).
